Guidelines For Students

  • They should take good care of their health be it alone means strong.
  • They should avoid vulgarity in their talk and behaviour.
  • They should accept whatever work is assigned to them as home work. To their rightful share. They should face difficulties courageously.
  • They should always be ready to lend a helping hand at home to their parents, brothers and in school to teachers and companions (and any unattended visitor they happen to meet on the school premises).
  • They should never cheat or be unfair at play.
  • They should stand up and wish in respect when a teacher or a visitor comes to talk to them.
  • They should be truthful whatever be the cost.
  • They should never be cruel. They must know that cruelty is the trait of a bully while kindness is the mark of a gentleman.
  • They should respect the beauty of the classroom and the school premises and report any damage they observe to the concerned teacher.
  • They should never hesitate to say ‘No’ when asked or tempted to do a thing which they know to be wrong.
  • They should respect the liberty and the right of others. Instead of lamenting and grumbling over the evils of the world. They should try to contribute their share to make it a better place to live in.
  • They should look upon people from all parts of the world as their brethren, irrespective of their colour and creed.
  • They should not waste their time in idle gossip.
  • They should take pride in wearing the school uniform.
  • They should use Smart Board Properly.
 

Guidelines For Parents

  • The school believe in discipline and in firmness. Slackness, disobedience and disregard of rules will not be tolerated at any work or action likely to lower the image of the school is regarded as a breach or the school discipline.
  • The school reserves the right to expel `(on disciplinary grounds) student whose diligence or progress in students. Immorality, insubordination or contempt of authority, and braking bound arte always. Sufficient reasons for being expelled or rusticated immediately.
  • Parents are requested not to enter the classroom/academic area to see their children or teachers during school hours without the permission of the Principal.
  • They are required to inform the school if there is any change in their address or telephone number.
  • Leave for 1/2 day MUST NOT be asked for security reasons. In emergency, the school shall contact the parents and ask them to come to take the ward from the school. A written permission must be taken from the principal and the Teacher on Duty (ToD).
  • Children, when sick, should not be sent to school to attend tests/classes.
  • Attention of parents is drawn to the fact that criticism of the teacher of school in the causes them to lose respect for their teachers with consequent failure to learn them. It further retards his/her progress.
  • Parents are advised to grant pocket money very judiciously to their wards. the pocket money should not exceed ten to twenty rupees.
  • In case of any legitimate complaint, please meet the Principal at once or write in a separate letter addressed to his/her. He/she will look into these maters personally.
  • Any communication made by parents/guardians should be addressed to the Principal and not to the class teachers and all correspondence from the school to the parents must be through the Principal.
  • The name, Admission No., Class, Section and House of the students should be clearly marked on their belonging such as bags, water bottles, shoes, sweaters, etc.
  • Parents are requested to co-operate with the school in its attempt to Help their children’s progress by paying attention to their regularity, Punctuality and discipline and by taking interest in their homework they should check the Almance everyday and note the home work and other instructions in it. In case of small children the parents are advised to check the bag of their wards to see if any notice has been issued.
  • School property must be taken care off any damage caused by a student will have to be made good by the student concerned. In addition, a fine will be imposed for the offence.
  • It is not advisable to give the children valuable articles like expensive watches, fountain pens, calculations, i-pods, tabs, cell phones and jewellery etc. to bring in school. In case of any loss of valuables or other articles, the school authorities shall not undertake any responsibility for the loss.
  • All students are expected to join the school on the notified date at the beginning of the school term. A fine of Rs. 50/- is imposed for absence on the reopening date, unless the Principal is informed for the leave before the end of the term which officially ends after the flag assembly on the last day. Parents and guardians will appreciate that absence during term is not in the best interest of the student. Leave may granted to students only on the following grounds:-
    1. In case of serious illness or death of a very close relative.
    2. For the condolence visits if the students is the only male member of the family and his presence is essential according to the custom.
    3. To attend the marriage of his/her own brother, sister or brother/sister of either parent.
    4. To perform the Tika Ceremony of his sister if he is the eldest brother in the family.
    5. The students should be recognized not only by their school uniform but also by their good conduct and behaviour as student of the Himalayan International School.

School Rules

  • The Almanac should be carried by every student to school every day.
  • All students should arrive at school before the start of the Home Room period.
  • The bell before the assembly is a signal for the students to go to the assembly. As soon they are back in their classes, the students should get their books ready for the first period. They should maintain perfect discipline.
  • Students should be habitually clean and always neatly dressed. The school uniform should be worn on all working days and for all school functions. Students who are not in proper uniform will not be allowed to enter their classrooms.
  • Non-skin body should get a proper hair-cut at regular intervals.
  • Shouting on anything is not allowed in or around the school building. Throwing of anything at anyone is strictly forbidden.Other than textbook or library books/ other books like, magazines, papers, CDs, Removable memory card, pen drives etc. should not be brought to school without the Principal’s permission.
  • Lending or borrowing money or any article is not permitted.
  • The school is not responsible for articles lost. It is not advisable to bring valuable articles like expensive watches, fountain pens, calculators. I pods, I-pads, tabs, cell phone and jewellery etc. to school.
  • School property must be taken care of and no one should scratch or spoil the desk or share or damage any school furniture, write or draw any thing on the wall.
  • Damage done even by accident should be reported at once to the class teacher /class prefect or the Principal.
  • Any damage caused will be made good by the student concerned together with a fine imposed for search an offence.
  • Any one who notice something damage should report even he or she does not now who has done it. Students are not allowed to bring any sharp instrument to school.
  • Students should take care of the digital class equipments installed in different class room
  • Coming to school on self-driven automobiles is strictly not allowed and anyone found doing so even after school hours shall be penalized severely amounting to expulsion from the school
  • Students who comes to school under the care of guardian/servant/cab/rickshaw-puller should never arrive before he/ she to take them back. In case of delay.   • Those who go home alone should not roam about on the way but should return home straight.
  • Students are warned not to buy anything from the street vendor.
  • Students should be polite wherever they go. They should always remember that the school is judged by their conduct. They should greet their teachers when they meet them.
  • Bullying is strictly prohibited in the school premises and no such act will go unnoticed or unpunished.
  • The school reserves for itself the right to terminate any student whose progress in studies is unsatisfactory or whose conduct is a bad example for others.
  • Bringing fireworks/exploding crackers or splashing water or color on the students in the school premises is strictly forbidden even during festival times. Non-compliance of these instructions can result in expulsion from the school.
  • The Name, Class, Section of the student repeated be clearly marked on his/her belongings.
  • School appointees should wear their respective badges daily.
  • Students must come to school in uniform only. This rule applies even when they come to school for any purpose other than attending classes or even after school hours.
  • For the safety and security of the students, the entire school premises is equipped with CCTV Cameras which automatically record any movement/should sound. CCTV footage may be used for disciplinary action against any act indiscipline.
